Educational Workshops

What happens in a Morvisto workshop?

Our workshops are structured educational sessions โ€” not lectures, not therapy. They're practical working sessions where you and your family learn to see your spending clearly and make sense of it.

The Full Program

How is the workshop structured?

The Morvisto program unfolds in phases over approximately five weeks. Each phase builds on the previous one.

Phase
1

Intake & Context Session

We sit with your family for an initial 90-minute conversation. We learn about your household income structure, your regular fixed expenses, and how your family currently thinks about money. No documents required โ€” just an open conversation.

90 minutes In-person or remote No preparation needed
Phase
2

Two-Week Expense Recording

The core of the program. Every day for two weeks, your family records every expense โ€” large or small. We provide a simple recording method that fits your routine. We check in briefly every few days to answer questions and keep the process on track.

Phase
3

Analysis & Mapping

We take the recorded data and build your family's complete spending map. We categorize every expense, identify patterns, and find the spending clusters that are likely surprising you. This is where the picture becomes clear.

Phase
4

Presentation & Planning Session

We present the full spending map to your family in a 2โ€“3 hour session. We walk through every category together. Then we identify adjustments โ€” changes that are realistic, specific, and designed for your actual life โ€” not generic financial advice.

2โ€“3 hours Full family Written plan Your decisions
Phase
5

Follow-Up Check-In

Two weeks after the planning session, we reconnect for a 45-minute follow-up. We discuss what's working, what's been harder than expected, and refine any part of the plan that needs adjustment. This is the last formal session.

The Experience

What does a session actually feel like?

There's no classroom setup, no whiteboard full of formulas, and no uncomfortable feeling of being judged. Sessions happen in your home or a comfortable space of your choosing.

We work through the information together โ€” asking questions, listening to context, and building understanding collaboratively. The goal is that by the end, you understand your own spending better than we do.

The planning session often involves some surprising moments โ€” expenses that nobody in the family realized were this significant, or categories where the family feels genuinely fine spending more. Both are equally useful information.

Fit

Is this workshop right for your family?

The Morvisto program works well in specific situations โ€” and may not be the right fit in others. Here's how to tell.

Good fit

  • Stable income but monthly shortfalls
  • No clear picture of daily spending
  • Willing to track for two weeks
  • Open to seeing the full picture
  • Looking for clarity, not a magic fix

Consider carefully

  • Significant existing debt requiring restructuring
  • Looking for investment or savings advice
  • Expecting someone else to manage finances
  • Unwilling to involve the whole household
Questions

Workshop-specific questions

Yes. All sessions โ€” including the initial conversation, check-ins, and the final presentation โ€” can be conducted remotely via video call. The expense tracking itself is always self-managed by your family, so location is no barrier.

For the tracking phase to be accurate, all adults in the household who make purchases need to participate. Children don't need to be involved in sessions, but if they make purchases independently, those should be tracked too.

Missing a day occasionally is normal. We help you reconstruct what you can from memory and bank records. Consistency is more important than perfection โ€” even an imperfect two-week log reveals significant patterns.
